Chapter Five:
red-panda-chan.livejournal.com/2463.html Chapter Six:
“Sit down Chae Ri,” he said in a deep voice that could collapse a city if angry.
“No need I’m not staying,” I replied not budging from my spot.
“I said sit down,” his voice was a little frustrated.
“You can’t tell me what to do,” I said still not moving.
“I said sit down damn it!” he yelled and I still wouldn’t move.
“I already know what you’re going to say,” I was still calm. Rule number one: don’t give in; it shows weakness. “You’re going to tell me I either have to go home to dad or I have to move in with you, and I refuse to.”
“That is not for you to decide,” he was calm again as he put his glasses on and went through some paperwork.
“It is for me to decide because I don’t want to live with you or go home,” I argued as he looked up.
“I will not allow my granddaughter to live with ten boys!” he was yelling again. “You are the heir to Han Enterprises! I will not have you corrupted by filth!”
“You don’t even know them!” I exclaimed back. I didn’t want to fight with him but if I have too I will.
“Will you just listen to me?!” he demanded.
“What like you know what’s best for me?! Like you know what I want?!” I wanted to hit something.
“I do know what’s best for you!” he slammed his hands down on the table and stood up.
“You don’t know anything!” I shook my head in anger. “If you so badly want to tell someone what to do with their life go get the twins! Because I will not follow your orders!”
“And who says you have a choice?” he smirked.
“If you think you can tell me what to do like you did my mom then think again. I’ll kill myself before I let you be the boss of my life,” I threatened.
“Just like your mother,” he muttered. “I’ll allow you to stay; but if anything happens and I mean anything. I will bring your ass home and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
“Is this conversation over because I can’t stand to see you anymore,” I admit it was a little mean but if I was mean then he was a bitch.
“Leave,” he said simply.
“Thanks,” I said harshly and threw opened the door and walked out.
I was on my way home as a black car pulled in front of me and a man got out and opened the door. I was thinking of walking but it was a long way home and it couldn’t hurt to get a ride. I got in and the driver took me home.
As I walked in I hadn’t realized how late it was, maybe grandfather did live farther away than I thought. It was already 8:30 when I walked in.
“Where have you been?” Sarah walked out of the kitchen.
“Home,” I replied tiredly. “Where are the boys?”
“They’re at work and aren’t coming home till tomorrow,” Staci walked out with rice.
“Is it dinner time?” I asked sitting down at the dining table.
“Yup!” Staci set a plate in front of me with curry rice.
“Takahata Misaki stopped by earlier asking for you,” Sarah said sitting across from me.
“Really?” I perked up; he came by to see me?
“He wanted to know where you disappeared to,” she replied as I took a bite out of the curry.
“What did you tell him?” I asked suspiciously.
“Told him you were out and didn’t know where you went,” she replied setting her chin on her hands.
“So where did you go?” Staci asked as I finished my last bite.
“I went home to see my grandfather,” I answered taking my plate to the kitchen and washing it.
“What for?” man these girls are throwing questions at me like I’m a freaking answering machine… wait… that was a strange way to put it.
“To straighten things out,” was the best way I could put it.
“Very explanatory,” Sarah sighed. “Would you like to elaborate?”
“Nothing can go wrong,” I started. “Or else I have to go home.”
The three of us were silent for a few moments and then I started on my way to my bedroom.
“I’ll you guys in the morning,” I said and went to my room to sleep.

School a Few Days Later:
So in the past few days we had figured that we were going on our camping trip this weekend and we were going to a lake. Well a lake house, on an island not too far away, it’s my dad’s so I asked if I could go up there with my class and he said it was fine.
“Chae Ri!” I looked up to Mirai’s happy face.
“Yes?” I urged her to go on.
“I’m auditioning for a new drama!” she exclaimed happily.
“Like she’ll get the part,” I heard someone snicker.
Mirai was silent like she had taken a hit or something; it seemed she didn’t take to well to snide comments.
“Don’t worry you’ll get the part,” I said in a reassuring manner.
“That’s the thing though,” she started. “I want you to audition with me.”
“What?!” I exclaimed jumping up from my seat. “Are you kidding?”
“Shut up,” she whispered pulling me back down. “I’m not kidding; I think you would be great for the part.”
“When?” I asked.
“We’ll make audition tapes within the next week and send them in,” she said. “From there they pick who they want.”
“Okay I’ll do it,” I replied as Ms. Lee walked in happily.
“Are you guys ready for tomorrow?” she asked excitedly.
Did I mention our class trip to the lake house is tomorrow? Yeah well we’re leaving and coming back by next Sunday… It’s going to be a long week.
“Be here tomorrow morning at nine and we’ll leave at about ten,” she said. “I will leave you behind if you’re late.”

Nine o’clock Next Day:
I trudged to school with my duffel bag and in my school uniform. I was so tired because my English teacher made me write a three page essay on why I shouldn’t talk back to my teachers because I told her she was wrong again. But it’s totally irrational! I was right! You can’t say: ‘How many days are us going to stay’, maybe she just hates me or something.
I walked into school and into my homeroom to see practically everyone already there, which means I was almost late. Good thing Staci and Sarah got me up this morning or I would’ve skipped the class trip and slept the rest of the day.
“Chae Ri you’re here!” Mirai walked next to me her bag in hand. “This is going to be so much fun!”
“Yeah,” I mumbled remembering the last time I went to the lake house with my mom. Before she passed away.
“Is everyone here?” Ms. Lee asked looking at her clipboard and everyone chorused ‘yeah’. “Is everyone ready?” there was another chorus of ‘yeah’ and Ms. Lee smiled happily. “Then let’s go!” she pumped her fist in the air.
It was a long ride to the lake house, it would be a train ride, a plane ride another train ride then a bus and lastly a car ride. But I was lucky because every time I got to sit next to Misaki. We played cards and talked the whole way there, and the whole time I began to like him even more.
Once we got off the bus there was no car to pick us up and then my phone vibrated in my pocket and I took it out.
“Sorry couldn’t pick you up.
You’ll have to walk.
~Kenny”
“Well that’s fun,” I mumbled closing the phone and looking up.
“What is it?” Misaki asked handing me my duffel bag.
“We’re going to have to walk to the house,” I said as everyone looked at me.
“Well it’s not too far,” Ms. Lee was looking up at the sun.
“Not too far?” Mirai asked. “I thought you said it was like two miles?”
“That’s not that far,” I said. “It’ll be probably an hour or so to get there.”
“At least there’s the lake so we can jump in right when we get there,” Ms. Lee said looking at the class who looked like they didn’t want to walk. “Alright! Chae Ri lead the way!”
I smiled and started to walk onto the trail leading to the house. It may be far but we can do it! What? I was trying to stay positive. A little over an hour later we approached the lake house and I smiled at its brick walls.
“Here’s the house!” Ms. Lee smiled spreading her arms out as if she was showing it off.
“That is not a house,” Keito said. “It’s a mansion.”
I looked up at the five story house and thought about it, yeah it could be considered a mansion if you wanted to consider it as that.
“Chae Ri!” a young girl in a maid uniform ran out and hugged me tightly. “It’s been so long since I’ve seen you!”
“Who’s the cosplayer?” one of the girls from class snickered.
“For your information,” she let go and looked at the snickering girl. “My name is Kendra and I’m a maid of the Han family. I refuse to be called something so vulgar and if you say one more time I’ll-”
“Kendra!” I said as she looked at me with a smile.
“Sorry Chae Ri,” she turned to the class. “I’ll take you inside now. Please follow me and watch your step.”
We followed her into the house and I could hear people sounding amazed at the foyer with its marble flooring and the grand staircase.
“Yosh! Let’s go swimming!” one of the girls yelled excitedly.
The class cheered and decided it was best to go out and take a swim because of how hot and sweaty they were but I just kept walking up the steps.
“Chae Ri where are you going?” Yuri asked grabbing my arm. “Don’t you want to swim with us?”
“I’m not really up to it,” I replied. “Jetlag.”
“Alright,” his smile softened.
“I’m going to my room,” I smiled and walked up the steps.
I was in my room and flopped on the bed and stared at the pink, flower decorated ceiling. It had been so long since I had been to this house. Almost nine years; almost seven since mom died. I closed my eyes and sighed, I had missed the clean smell of the nature. Always so relaxing, you don’t need anything but-

I sat up to see Ryosuke standing in the door way standing there like he had just interrupted something important.
“I thought I would keep you company,” he said and sat next to me.
“You should’ve gone swimming with them,” I said looking at him as he looked at me awkwardly.
“Why don’t you?” he asked.
“I have my reasons,” I looked away uncomfortably. I could feel his eyes following me as I stood up and picked up my duffel bag and put it on the bed.
“And you won’t tell me?” he asked. I wonder why people just didn’t mind their own business, but then again some people are either just too nice or too nosy.
“Nope,” I said unzipping the bag.
“I guess I understand,” he smiled at me. “What should we do?”
“Chae Ri?” a boy entered my room. I looked up at him because he was so tall, I pondered who it could be for a moment then looked at Ryosuke’s confused expression then looked back and figured it out.
“Kenny!”
