State of the Red Lynx

Rather a lot going on right now.

I broke a leg bone (left fibula, at the ankle) last Monday night. I was at fighter practice, in armor, and circling rather than fighting. I tripped and fell badly. So, no Pennsic for me. I have this massive boot on my foot that looks like something out of Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica.

We are moving to a house that is much bigger than our current one (yay!!) You can see a picture of it here I can't really do much useful about the moving at the moment, but I am told I can go down to one crutch or a cane sometime next week.

We still need to get a second vehicle, albeit a cheap one. This is a priority despite moving expenses because it's caused some stress for me at work. I can't afford to make my employers unhappy. Our new house is much closer to heptadecagram's work, so he intends to walk or bike, but I am sure there are times (like winter - he hates the cold) when he'll want to drive.

The move and all that it entails is making us nervous, especially given my broken leg. Heptadecagram's timeline for that moving stuff is here If you see anything on there that you'd be willing to help, please drop us a line! Things not on there but of high importance: clean new house as necessary to make sure smoke toxins are removed and help move some of the plants from the old house to the new.

We do have the advantage that we do not have to be out of the old house by a certain date. However, our discomfort with paying two mortgages will hasten the process - in order to make the old house rental-ready, we need to do some things like painting, adding an interior wall, etc that are best done when the house is empty!

move, house
