College Jock Tyler has the perfect family, they spend time together during the summer holidays at a perfect lake house, he and his father play golf together, he enjoys wild parties and plenty of girls, things can't get any better. This summer however that's all about to change when he invites his best friend Chase to come back with him.

Chase fits it to the family life with ease for the most part, spending time with Tyler's family, golfing with Tyler and his dad, attending parties with Tyler and even getting a summer job at the local golf course.

But as the summer progresses Chase become dissatisfied with the parties and the girls Tyler keeps throwing his way, frustrated that his friend can't seem to see the truth, Chase is gay. Chase begins to spend more time at the Mulligan family home and more time in the company of Tyler's sexy father Nathan. Soon Nathan and Chase bond and it becomes more apparent that each man is attracted to the other. While Chase is more open to the relationship Nathan denies it, after all he's spent the last 25 years in the closet.

One night when Tyler, his mother and sister are away Nathan approaches Chase admitting he's gay and they begin an affair. Chase soon begins to worry how he is betraying his friend and Nathan's wife, he intends to break in off but before he can Nathan's wife arrives at the golf course with the intention of spending more time with her husband, she catches the two men the the act.

Things go from bad to worse when after being confronted by Nathan's wife they decide to break it off but they are caught in their good bye kiss but no other than Tyler himself.

The family must then deal with the fallout, the heartbreak and make decisions on how they will live the rest of their lives.

Not a bad film, the acting standard is actually fairly good (with slips here and there) and the story telling not bad. I more enjoyed the build up to the affair but is did seem to take forever to get to that point. After the affair is revealed it seemed like everything happens really fast, like they've spent 1hr 15mins building it up then couldn't be bothered so wrapped it up in 10mins.

On top of that the end of the film spends so much time on Nathan and his wife which wouldn't be a problem except they constantly repeat the same thing over and over, 'oh your gay, why didn't you tell me, I knew the entire time, what are we gonna do' it's the same conversations just in several different places in the house.

Also frustrating is Nathan and Chase never resolve anything between themselves, after being caught they don't really ever talk again. I would have thought that a man like Nathan who has spent 25 years in the closet would see the relationship he has with Chase as pretty darn important, after all he hasn't had affairs with men previously.

The same could be said of Chase and Tyler, Chase tries to talk to Tyler several times but he blanks him them woosh one day Tyler just forgives him, no discussion, barely any apologies, it's just back to the way they were.

This really was slightly disappointing to me but as I said at's a so-so film, nothing brilliant but not appalling either.
