I Read Like I Eat

I read so much nowadays it's untrue.
I have finished quite a few novels recently - and re-read a few:
I have re-read Carrie by Stephen King for example and finished The Green Mile in a week (by the same author). Hot damn. Now I am reading Ruby in the Smoke by Philip Pullman. It's good - I might watch the drama if I get the chance. My only criticism is it moves too fast plot-wise.
I don't normally get that emotional with books but I remember when I read that scene about the little duck in A Chinese Cinderella when I was twelve, and when I read that last scene with Mr. Jingles in The Green Mile I did actually ALMOST cry (the scene with the duck in Chinese Cinderella actually made me cry...). I am one of those people who in films/books tends to mourn the loss of a cute animal more than the human characters. How insensitive of me - but I can't help it. It just gets to me. I had to actually hide my eyes under my fringe when I was finishing The Green Mile. It's such an emotional story - although to be fair I totally got choked up in most of Coffey's scenes - his 'little lunch'... WHY DOES THAT MAKES ME GO: DDDD:,
Gah. I am emotional. To a startling degree. LOL. But I think it's good - emotional books ought to make you feel joy/upset/anger etc...in a good way. Not getting upset or angry with a book because it is shit. That's NOT good. XDD

PS: I'm finally pushing on with my novel. It's hard, my language is formal, and...as usual I am a little lost in my own plot but I like the idea I have -  I just hope it works out okay in the end. It's a BIG story so... I've written a good eleven pages today - well, typed. I also need to change my speech marks from this: "  " to this ' ' <- Because England does this apparently and I THINK America does that " " but blame my sucky primary school for teaching me wrongly. It's so hard though - for almost a decade it's been the two speech marks as well GAWD. DD: Oh well I'll get over it. I've finally started dotting my i's not putting a little circle above them. At least I didn't put hearts... >_>;; No offence if you do... In terms of speech marks though it's not a problem REALLY but I figure I might as well at least TRY and change them. I don't get marked down but if I do Englit at Uni -- well, yeah I should try and conform. Nergh... D:
