Challenge #136

I agree, I guess. Disagreeing seems sort of pointless since I know it's true.

None of us would be as strong as we are now if it wasn't for Voldemort and all the rubbish he's put Harry, Hermione and I through in the last six years.

But the reality of it is different than the cliché. What doesn't kill you may make you stronger, but when you're dead what do you care about how strong you are.

When your parents, friends, brothers are dead or gone. When your life expectancy gets shorter with each passing year and the other side just keeps getting stronger. When the best of you are dead and the worst of you killed him. When you can't have what you want or who you want because it's too dangerous to let yourself be happy even for an instant you don't care so much anymore about how strong it is making you.

You're hiding, waiting for the next blow; because what doesn't kill you is just a prelude for what will. You don't care that it didn't kill you because the truth is you aren't living. Not really. And in the end, it may make you stronger but it doesn't make you happy.
