When you were in high school, were you part of the "Elite" crowd? And at the end of the year, when yearbooks were distributed, were you approached by some loser unknown to you, with a sad little yearbook in his/her arms that hadn't collected even one solitary signature? And did you take the yearbook, and write something generic like, "I don't know you that well, but you seem like a really great person. Have a nice summer. See you next year. Keep In Touch (with accompanying phone number you knew they'd never have the guts to call)"?
Seems like my old yearbooks are full of those types of messages.
