I'm moving out.
Yep, at the ripe old age of 25, I've finally decided to join my brethern and make the decision that just about everyone I know made years ago.
In my defense, I'm not a total wuss for leaving it this late. The last couple of years, as nice as they've been socially, have given me almost zilch employment, despite my efforts to the contrary. I had a few jobs here and there, but nothing really lasted. I was even fired from one job because I kept falling asleep (Which was later diagnosed as a result of a sleeping disorder).
So I really just kept waiting for "the right time" to come along. So of course, the right time never did come along. Maybe it's Karma's way of telling me to stop waiting for signs and to get my butt into gear? Who knows. An opportunity to move in with a friend presented itself late last year, and I took it up.
So right now I don't have much money, but I'm taking the plunge. It's kinda surreal sitting here in the room I've slept in for the past 15 years with all my stuff in boxes and suitcases. I've even packed up my miniature Zen garden.
So the big day is schedueled for Saturday, which means I have three more nights here before I say goodbye.
Still, there's stuff to look forward to as well. Mainly to do with all the chores my parents assigned me. The following I'm looking forward to not doing again:
*Making the whole familys breakfast each morning.
*Washing the floors (Okay, I'll have to do this at the new place, but at least it's smaller)
*Making my Fathers lunch each morning.
*Mowing the lawns.
*Gardeing.
*Cleaning after dinner each night (Okay, again I have to do this. But at least it will just be myself)
*Watering the gardens every day.
Oh, and I got a huge Smashing Pumpkins poster laminated. It's bigger than me. The poster is that big. Should be very sweet to put in my new bedroom.
Anyway, I'm moving in with a really good friend of mine. And I'm aware that even though people can be friends, living together can completely ruin the whole experience. So if anyone has any handy hints for sharing an apartment, I'd be happy to hear em.
That's it! I've gotta get the internet connection organized for the place soon, and the next time I write, I'll be in my new place.
I am going to miss my sister though.
