a million and one questions (really three...)
my tv was on fox when i got home, on mad tv was on, and they were doing some history channelish skit, and the lady turns to the camera to deliver the fun history fact, which was that royal families often made babies with their relatives, "resulting in a myriad of physical abnormalities, such as hermaphrodites, who have both a penis and a vagina." at this line the audience laughs. why? id hope that the audience knew beforehand what a hermaphrodite is, so the revelation couldn't have been funny. was it just because she said "penis and vagina?" and dont they prompt people to laugh on that show anyway? did the writers really see that as the punchline? fuckin television...
is steven spielberg really sponsoring a show that says anyone can be a filmmaker? if thats the case, remind me to burn jaws. plus i guess anyone can be a bad anything, and hollywood needs bad movies to stay hollywood and continue to support an ideology of white straight male supremacy. so should i stop hating? sure thing, go on the show, make money, steal scripts from poor and talented writers and enjoy your lives...itll be a minute before i destroy you, so soak it in while you got it.
why cant i watch the playoffs without this damn heinekin commercial getting in my head. the one with the pussycat dolls "song" claiming that i wished my girlfriend was hot like her, her being whichever of that bakers dozen actually does the "singing." i cant go five seconds without hearing that song in my head...fucking heinekin.
