Just a random observation: Lately, I have been seeing many of the "Abercrombie & Fitch" type guys wearing t-shirts and pullovers that say, "Hollister." I can't help but think of the 'good captain' whenever I see one of these shirts or jackets. I know that there isn't any connection, but still, it is interesting to see the name come up ( Read more... )

I ALWAYS think that whenever I see someone wearing something that says Hollister. It hasn't just been recently, though. I remember it as far back as 2 years ago.

No, I've never seen one of their brick-and-mortar stores, but their website is HORRIBLE. So I can just imagine how 'faux-trendy' one of their stores would be.

The first time I ever saw one, I was at work. When the customer came up to me, I asked him if he was a Red Dwarf fan. He looked at me like I was crazy. I pointed at his shirt, furthering his confusion. Then I asked him where he got the shirt because of Captain Hollister on Red Dwarf, and when he told me, I felt like I complete fool.

Still though, every time someone walks into the theater wearing a Hollister shirt (like tonight, for instance) I can't help but think of the Captain.
