...I thought that I had to stop being who I was. Change my name. Not talk to anybody. Let everyone think I was dead. Because Brother destroyed my original MIMIC, so I couldn't pilot anymore. Because he'd killed everyone else at the Grabera Institute, so suspicion would be on me for surviving.

Emily happened. I know you don't like her, but she was what I needed. I think I was what she needed, too. Universal MIMIC or not, she probably wouldn't have responded to me if she didn't like me. And then I had someone I could talk to. Someone Sara Werec could talk to, I mean, not someone Sara Cruz could say three words to and walk away from.
