good day
no time, no time.
I came into work today after missing yesterday to see my first big fashion placement in the new W! I love the spread - it's all Victorian-inspired (I was kinda...not surprisingly like everything else...OBSESSED with Victorian era growing up). I posted it as my main myspace picture because I suck and deserve to be smacked several times.
interview went really well yesterday. the director was very nice to me (i was scared). the DC person was on conference call listening in and interjecting with questions. I wore a suit (THANKS AMANDA!!!!) after showering at Mary-Louise's apartment and walking through the 95 degree heat...wow, I have never known uncomfortable like that. stockings, a tight skirt (a skirt i could barely zipper, a skirt that used to need constant pulling up...diet time?), a button-down silk shirt AND a suit jacket. HELLLL. I saw my competitor as I was leaving. A dude. A nerdy, glasses-wearing but sort of dapper and definitely Jewish dude. Blast. Dudes, stay out of communications. Dammit.
so anyway, at the end of the interview, i asked the director what brought her to Amnesty...wow, she loves it there. so does everyone. i asked this woman in the elevator: "do you like it at Amnesty?" almost before i finished the question, she looked me in the eyes and said, "oh, i love this place."
there are a lot of intelligent looking and sounded people running around all over the place. this girl about my age started up a conversation with the hispanic, middle-aged receptionist about a new documentary at the Angelica about...either a latin or south american country. anyway, they both agreed they needed to see it. and the girl said, "hey, how about wednesday? after work? let's go see it!".
that really touched me. i was thinking, "i want to go with you guys!!".
