Whee, I fail at keeping this thing going.
Things that have been done recently, more or less. Less recently. Actually a while ago.
Went hiking with The Kirst on an Adventure Korea trip, more trivia stuff, more writing (although never as much as I should / want to), and a little bit of rock climbing more recently.
My new class is coming along fairly well. I haven't got them up to full sentences that they make themselves yet, of course, but they know a few basic formulas ('my name is...', 'my shirt / hair / etc. is...', 'i am...' and whatnot). They replaced all the wallpaper in the school over the weekend due to new fire code -- gave us an hour to clear the walls of anything we wanted to keep. So this morning was mostly spent cleaning up and remounting all the decorations, posters, and artwork. It still kind of stinks in there, and actually two parents pulled their kids for the day or something, not surprising considering that they weren't ever warned that this was happening.
Because yeah, it would be SO HARD to send home a letter and tell the parents school will be closed on Monday for a quick renovation.
We had Children's Day / Parent's Day celebrations recently, and they sucked, pretty much. Kids were all wired up on sugar and shit so I let them doodle, color, and mess with playdoh all day. Elementary kids were worse, because they'd already been wired up by the time they came for their after-school classes. Looking forward to Thursday next, though, because that's Buddha's Day and we get that off. Chances are good I'll spend most of it sleeping. Or playing Eve, because that's apparently what I do now.
Been drawing a lot recently. I give the kindergarten kids one sketchbook period a week, which I abuse to do my own doodling while they scribble family portraits with swords, monsters, robots, and fire. At least one of the girls does this too, which makes it about an even split between the aforementioned and the princess self-portraits.
That aside, I don't do much outside of school, really. I order pizza too much (once a week) because I'm tired of the local food and most Mondays I can't be bothered to cook for myself. We're supposed to get new teachers really soon, and I hope they find someone asap because I don't want to have to deal with the shitstorm that'll hit when four teachers have their contracts run out in the next six weeks.
Anyway, I'm tired, and I don't really feel like thinking any more right now.
If you want a postcard, send me your current mailing address, I swear I'll get on it.
