So yes. Spring break. 'Tis wonderful, even (rephrase: especially) sans drunken madness and bacchanalian debauchery. I've spent most of my time hanging out with old friends, sleeping, reading Stranger In a Strange Land instead of doing my homework, and attempting to schedule something vaguely productive to do with myself over the summer. I've narrowed it down to three options, in order of preference, only one of which is actually realistic:
Option#1: I win a contest sponsored by the New York Times. I get a free trip to Africa with a journalist. Tre unlikely. Tre exciting.
Option#2: I take a lifeguarding job with the rec department, and possibly an internship with the Statesboro Herald. I went by the Herald office building yesterday to ask about internships, and the secretary looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language, so I'm not too hopeful.
Option#3: I work as a camp counselor in Wisconsion. Even though I think this would be pretty cool, I honestly don't understand 9-14 year old girls. In fact, they frighten me. Moreover, I'm not the best at arts and crafts. I get glue everywhere. And I can't color in the lines.
One of the perks of staying in Statesboro would be seeing my friends, all of whom I miss when I'm in Boston. Seeing them this week was awesome. It strange how I expect everything to be the same as when I left, but nothing is. Everything is different, but more the same.
Ah, yeah. One more thing: I'm worried that lj lets me play into some sort of exhibitionism. I guess it's becuase it's written, so I don't really feel like it's public, and I end up writing personal stuff. It makes me uncomfortable.
Off to the beach.
