This Is Such An ADD Post

I'm starting for the foilist team. Our first tournament is in November. Yeah. Something about being a varsity athlete makes me very uncomfortable.

In other news, this weekend is parents' weekend, so accordingly, my parents are coming to visit. This means that my room is suddenly very clean, and that I will in all likelihood spend this weekend buying clothes (and as all of my jeans are near death, this is a very, very good thing). Perchance I shall get a haircut. I'll definitely eat somewhere OTHER than the dining hall. So yeah, good times ahead.

I'm so busy. Because I was sick last week (never share glasses with other people - especially at parties), I'm behind in most of my classes, and studying is starting to resemble frantically treading water. I'm barely getting by. Next week I have a HUGE midterm for my International Relations class, I'm giving blood, I'm writing a preview for a theater production, I'm volunteering for an organization that's trying to keep gay marriage legal in Massachusetts, and I'm hopefully buying a Halloweeen costume. Any suggestions? The typical freshman-girl costumes all seem to have the prefix "slutty" attached to them, and that's not exactly what I'm looking for.

Meh. This is completely unrelated to the word "slutty", I promise, but I miss having Margaret around to gossip with. I want to ask: Why are the majority of guys I'm attracted to thinner than me????? WTF??? I need girl-talk. NOW.

Oh, we watched "Bowling for Columbine" in class today. Michael Moore is a sensationalist, I don't deny it, and I'm not for complete gun control, but honestly, why do people need assault rifles? Why? My favorite part, I think, was the interview with Marilyn Manson, who is a surprisingly intelligent and well-spoken guy. I liked what he said about fear and consumerism.

*sigh* The library is closing. I should leave, or they'll probably shoot me. Or maybe just lock me in with the periodicals.
