Tufts is going well. They keep us pretty busy during Orientation going to Open Houses and whatnot, which is good. I've met so many new people (they're all really cool), but I haven't really made any friends yet. I mean, there are definitely people to sit with and I can introduce myself to anyone, but no one I can call up and hang out with on a whim. I guess it's silly to expect to have friends immediately, but I'm so used to Statesboro, where I know everyone. The food is great. They have lots of coffee and an amazing salad bar. My roommate is cool, if a little over-enthusiastic (about her new-found freedom, anyway). Our dorm is liveable. (Except I still need to decorate.) I register for classes on Saturday, and hope to take Spanish, drawing, biology, and political science along with my writing class. Whatev. We'll see how that goes. I'm going to do fencing, student government, community outreach, theater, and write for the paper. Hopefully I won't overdo it.
At GSU, I always disliked freshmen. Maybe it was because Statesboro was my home or because I had older friends, but I always thought of them as annoying, scurrying around stealing the good parking places. Yeah. Well. Now I'm the one wandering around alone with a map, and I really don't like it. It makes me so nervous. Even worse, today at lunch I accidentlly sat with seniors. They were nice, but it was obvious that they were doing me a favor. Apart from that, everything has gone really smoothly. Campus is absolutely beautiful, and the weather is great. It's about 80 degrees at the warmest. So for now, my life consists of beautiful weather, tons of opportunities, and a great deal of awkwardness.
I miss you, Jay.
