Mermaid: Memory Of Its Name

___As she held his hand, she stared into the waves and watched as the shifting waters rose, drove themselves in compelled motion forwards, and crashed into the shore in a mist-spraying mess. The world was behind her, and she could think of it no longer. Just... the beauty of standing on the soft and relenting sand, the expanse of mobile, cloudy skies dressing the heights above, the mist that filled the air and danced around into her lungs, filling her with fresh moisture.

___It was all filling, and her mind wandered as she explored the sight with her eyes and got lost in the moisture and expansiveness which could not be seen, but rather imagined. She called out to the water in her mind, in her heart, in her spirit, and it reached back to caress her. She held on more and more intensely to her boyfriend's hand and yearned, silently, as though screaming inside for fate.

___In the sound of crashing waves, shifting air and distant traffic, which was moderate yet accented as the occasional car passed on the distant road behind them, she found herself mesmerized. Everything was taking in her eyes, her ears, her senses were filling into the moment and the beauty of the dark and mobile sky. Everything was accented in her mind and she loved it, filling her place with the meaning of desire.

___She heard it, it rose in her ear and she was lost adrift in the notes and tones and the wailing call as it coiled and unraveled and spent itself into the air and became as part of what she breathed. The voice was so haunting that it pulled into her and called on her and made her scream to be held. Everything was changing and her eyes wet with tears and she began to lose balance and sway as emotions she didn't know, yet did remember, came flourishing within her and pulled her to grace.

___She clutched her boyfriend's hand tighter, also moving forward into the shoreline. She wandered, her soul caught in the drifting sonnet that was pouring into the air from out in the water. Her boyfriend eventually stopped following her to the sea, and stared on in confusion. The music was everywhere, and for him it brought fear; though for his girlfriend was blossoming a mesmerized fixation, and she did follow it true.

___As she reached the shore's edge, she didn't stop. She walked deeper and deeper into the crests and flats of the sea. She let herself be bathed and walked on, and on, and on. Her chest tightened and tears were shed of her eyes as things she hadn't seen since a time she never knew she knew conquered and nurtured her. Everything was somewhere else, and she didn't know anything with fear, but a passion mixed with a hollowness inside of her. The music echoed and resonated in that hollow place, and she became the song.

___Her boyfriend began to shout, to scream, trying to call her back to the land, the fret of panic filled him and drove him to anguish. He fell to his knees and clenched himself in a firm grasp as such that his knuckles paled and fingers ached. She didn't turn, she didn't hear. She knew what mattered within herself and followed into the depths of the water. The sky above drove itself made, hail shattered the air and lightning ravaged the clouds, and she was there in wandering, that she carried on.

___The water was surrounding her in grace, and she was breathing through her throat, in gasps that never reached her mouth nor nostrils. Everything was pulling at her on the inside, and she was feeling a depth of love she had never held to in this life; but it was there for her, and it meant all the beauty of the world. As she continued deeper into the sea and filled in all the moments she trespassed with love and yearning, her body began to shape anew.

___Her hair lost itself into a long and flowing, smooth and riddled mass of length and body. Her eyes sharpened and irises swelled and pupils expanded as she dwelled deeper and deeper. Digits, as with the fingers, grew binds together and became webbed, while her back and stomach tightened and fulfilled themselves, her breasts swelled and lifted in perkiness. Her hips colored and grew scales as they extended deeper and deeper into her legs. The length of strong, mobile body was extensive and pushed the lower limbs out of place and rutted into them a length of a great tail, bound in wreathes of crystal green scales and ending in a great fin full of strength and figure. She filled, fulfilled within, and felt the power of every unknown dream she'd ever had come true.

___She spiraled into power, thrusting herself deeper and deeper into the water and entering into the place she wouldn't have remembered she ever knew. She was home, and the body of the sea embraced her and comforted her, the smell of the depths below the waves excited and fulfilled her. Everything had moved into being of meaning, and all the world was mobile and impossible; it was the most beautiful of sights.

___As she threw herself, pushed herself, and propelled herself into the water, she realized that the beautiful haunting melody, a memory of everything that was meant in the name 'love', was everything. It shined and shimmered in the water and decorated it all in a bending of impossible flaring colors. She looked on over to the sound's peak and swam into it. Eagerness, excitement, the rush of discovering true love, it all filled her and made her world.

___The song was the sound of everything to know, and it was sacred and celebrated, and she knew of the oceans and seas and all the wandering she had done. From the empty open sky to the riddling expanse of  coral reefs, from the ferocity of playful sharks to the community learned in school of tuna. Everything was there, it was love and it was inside of her.

___As she thrust forward, the density of the water gave way to sight and everything was unveiled. A trio of mermaids was dancing about in the deeper, more central region of the beach's reach into the sea. They were dancing, drawing elaborate images into the sand with their tails as they made images of purity and inner meaning. She watched them, tearing up and falling into lust of the beauty that life had always held... and as she had forgotten when she let herself be lost as a human.

___The trio of mermaids were singing as they danced. They looked as though their names were beauty, inner peace, and clarity of mind. They were the meaning, and the message, and she welled up her tears and wept in incredible love and joy. She knew, after so many years... years past a duo of decades, she knew that this was what had always mattered.

___The family amidst her kind was the heart she had always loved, the missing part that she thought of when she was alone in her room, staring at the ceiling from the hollow comforts of a mattress-donning bed. All those points in her day where she stopped, looked out before her in the setting of buildings and folk, that the emptiness she was secretly yearning to fill was this. Those endless years of fantasy  and longing without knowledge nor name, wherein she was lost on the land and mucking about in the nonsense of trivial human life, they had finally been answered and solved.

___The world was water, the love was life, and the extensiveness was the symbol of represented eternity and endless wayfaring. There was nothing wrong now. She was home, she was with her family and she had made absolutely everything happen. She was, finally and yet again, the beauty of a mermaid, the meaning of a goddess. All the answers to life were real to her now, and no longer was she lost to the endless clumsiness of dawdling upon the oddity of feet and legs. She was free, and all the world and all of its meaning was now there for her.

___Life had been answered, and everything was filled with the purity of truth. She swam into the midst of the trio, and the four of them celebrated and danced and sang, laughing as well amidst all the jubilation. They moved and swirled in great circles, they hugged and let themselves make songs freely with neither fear nor shame. Everything had become openness, and all the world was available to meeting with a masterful knowledge of absolute love and zealous encouragement. The world had changed, she had changed, and back into what was meant to be did all things move.

___In her name, congratulations and celebration. That one, after years lost, can find their way to the place that means home and realize their life anew. That no matter how long something is lost from its path, the path will linger in patience and wait. If one stumbles on but one committed circumstance, if they follow the message of as their heart takes to the inspiration and wander truly into the midst of where they belong... may life always be vulnerable, collapsing the illusions and sparking the greatest of enlightenment. May, no longer, the length of loss displace. May everyone someday see their true heart, know themselves for who they are within and what they truly should have been. May home become real again, and no sacred love ever be lost to the commonplace mindlessness and heartlessness of life as with humanity's endless distractions... and countless inner struggles as haunts us so. To peace, meaning, and love; all true of who we each really ought to be.
