YAY for happy dog news!

Kell's good news reminded me I hadn't posted about Sienna. She had her allergy test last Friday, and we're still waiting on the results. *However*, since Friday, she's been on colostrum pills, and a 1 week course of anti-biotics and steroids with nothing to eat but a home made diet. (Shredded boiled chicken with some smashed potatoes that were boiled in the broth plus some green beans.) Her eye's aren't red. Her ear's aren't red. I haven't caught her scratching, licking, or biting herself. She's out of the doughnut and snuggie and just into a tee-shirt so the abrasions she gave herself in her armpits heal. Now, she's done this before on anti-biotics and steroids, as they treat the symptoms, but do not cure anything by themselves. I'm hoping that as she comes off the meds on Friday, but stays on the homemade diet, that she'll stay comfortable. And when we get the allergy results back (who knew most dogs were allergic to, and cannot process, flax seeds, which are in nearly every "skin and coat" supplement) that I can find or make a balanced diet that will keep her comfortable from now on. I'll probably be switching her over to a raw diet, so now I just need to convince PetFoodDirect.com to let me return the *4 cases* of dog food I just bought!

But this means we can resume training to pass the Therapy Dog program, because Pit Bulls need all the positive press they can get. But more importantly, it means she'll be healthy and happy a whole lot longer.
