As usual, I'd like to say that optional details are optional, so please feel free to do your thing and don't feel pressured whatsoever by my scrawling thoughts and musings. These are just ideas and suggestions, and you are fabulous for doing Yuletide!! My feelings for general likes et al haven't changed much the past few years, so it's mostly the same as my last few Yuletides, BUT I have added a few DNW's relating to current world because I definitely just need some fandom escape this year. Anyways, let's get into it. :D
General Likes/Dislikes
Do Not Want:
I absolutely do not want any noncon, incest, abuse, suicide, extended torture, super relentlessly dark fic. I don't enjoy slash or implied slash as a main theme, horror/gore, kinky sex, threesomes/moresomes, mpreg, cross generational ships. I prefer not to receive pure smut/PWP as I'm very picky about the smut I read (BUT if it contained some PG-13/light R vanilla sexytimes that is A-OK).
I really would rather not read anything relating to COVID, quarantine, current politics, etc. I just really need a fandom escape!!
I would rather not recieve high school/college AUs, rock band AUs, deaged fic, fics focused on kids or pregnancy - just not interesting to me!

I adore unexpected/reluctant broships, sass & snark & sarcasm, gen fic, UST with a payoff, angst, fluff, witty banter, flirting. TIME TRAVEL ANYTHING - Groundhog Day AUs, time loop shenanigans, oops woke up in the wrong decade, and hand-wavey science/magic to do it, whatever. I'm in.
I am down for het shippy fic as much as I am gen fic. If it's shippy, I prefer flirting and falling in love over established relationship, and/or history/past relationship or angst/UST, but I'm also totally happy getting good established relationship stuff too (ex. food fights, sleepy Sundays, slice of life). I'll take any genre (except horror), including hurt/comfort, action/spy/heist, apocafic, pranks & shenanigans, slow burn, 5+1. Making light fandoms dark or dark fandoms light.
I'm totally cool with tropes! I am especially obsessed with enemies to lovers lately, but also very much enjoy best friends to lovers, there's only one bed, fake dating/married (esp if they're enemies to lovers AS WELL - oh bread and BUTTER), we both are here to kill the same person oops, accidentally in love, found family (especially when they're all dysfunctional hot messes), protective characters, I hate you stop saving my life.
And I'm super down for crossovers (with fandoms I know - see my tumblr for ideas) and AUs! Like, assassins/thieves/spies, fairytale, coffeeshop, 40s detective/noir, Supernatural (monster hunters) being some particular favs. I'm totally good with fusions.
tl;dr: unexpected/reluctant broships, sass, time travel, angst + humor/banter, yes to tropes (enemies to lovers!!), yes to shippy or gen.
Fandom Specific
(Note for all: non-canon scenarios just as welcome as canon scenarios, as long as nothing is too blatantly OOC. :D)
Doom Patrol: I binged this show insanely fast this spring, then the second season this summer. First I gotta say that I am devastated they left the show on SUCH A MASSIVE CLIFFHANGER, so if you want to take a crack at resolving that, go for it. Second, I love this show. I absolutely love the characters and how they are all so massively dysfunctional but still doing what they can to save the world - even if it's super reluctantly, lol. I love the dynamics they have with each other, and how the show frequently takes the time to give characters the space to work through some issues and in different friend combinations (ie. Victor and Rita working on training together, or Jane and Cliff bonding, Larry helping Jane with the well, Rita and Larry being platonic soulmates). To that end, I'd love to see a little more of combos that haven't been as explored yet, like Larry + Vic, or Jane + Rita or Cliff + Rita. My number one favorite thing on the show is Larry and Rita's friendship, so I would love anything focused on that - maybe one of them gets into some trouble and needs a rescue, and the other one is there to get them out of it. Other things I would love to see include: mission gone wrong (naturally), pranks and shenanigans, reluctant broship/bonding, humor and sarcasm broken up by angst. This show is basically crack on crack, so I don't know if there's anything weird enough to be off limits, haha, but I defs would love to have the focus kept on the main team of Rita, Larry, Cliff, Jane, and Vic, and less of others (tho others are welcome to make appearances, especially if you opt to tackle the season 2 cliff hanger). Also, Niles is complicated and frequently sucks, but I'd rather not read something is just Niles bashing. (Lastly: I have not read the comics at all, nor seen any of Titans, though I know both exist. Just binged the show, so that's currently all I know.)
Jane the Virgin: Another show I basically binged this spring/summer, this show filled my heart (and shattered it, and filled it, and shattered, and filled it...). I had once upon dismissed it and I'm so glad I got convinced to watch it. I love it's unabashed drama and silliness, coupled with fantastic humor and deep heart, romance and magic and heartache, and it's probably one of my new favorite shows. The thing I love most though... is Michael and Jane. Michael. Pretty much all Michael. I'll be honest and say it took me a while to come around on Raf - Raf is a good dude, and he went through so many ups and downs and change, and I really did grow to love him too. But Michael is just my type and he was My Guy from about minute 12 and a half probably, and I just. I need more Michael in my life - and not how they did it.
(If you're reading this paragraph, I assume you've seen the show, so uh, look away if you haven't - skip to the next fandom. XD) But okay, when they brought him back in season 5, it was so upsetting - and yes, the entire show is built on wacky telenovela stunts, so of course someone important coming back from the dead was well in line with that, but not Michael - they should have left that alone. It wasn't fair to Raf and Jane who'd finally arrived at a pretty good place for Michael to show up. It was beyond awful that his memories were gone, and then ultimately he got some back but then, like, stayed a racher guy?? He just went on with his life away from her and married somebody else and is a different person now??? Like I appreciate they gave him a happy ending and all, but are we not going to talk about the fact that Rose had him tortured until he lost all identity?!?! I JUST. I'm very very upset and need some catharsis, haha. So for fics, I would to see either some fix its - he doesn't die in season 3, or when he comes back in season 5 then things go totally differently and we get our Michael back (I'm sorry, Raf), maybe some time travel craziness happens and he gets a do over. Or, I would love to see some AUs where Jane and Michael meet or fall in love in different ways - maybe like a coffeeshop AU or florist AU or like, pick-any-chick-flick-and-yes-please-do-that AU. XD Or, just some fluff + angst. (Oh, and also, I realize this has nothing to do with Michael but, when Adam (Tyler Posey) showed up, all I wanted was a Teen Wolf crossover, so feel free to go down that road as well - maybe Stiles shows up to get "Adam" and take him back to Beacon Hills, and Jane goes with and there's some monster hunting shenanigans that go down?)
Happy to read about basically any of the core characters at all being a part of the story (but maybe go very sparing on side characters; would rather not read at all about Chuck, Magda, Scott, Aneska (sp?); if Esteban, Baby, and Darci are present, it is minimal/metioned/background). I love Ro, Xo, Abuela, Raf, Petra. Also I really shipped Petra/Raf for like...almost the whole show, which was also hard to let go of, even when I really liked Jane/Raf, so I'll just put that out there. XD And Michael + Ro's broship is legendary, Ro is iconic, I would die for Xo, I want to adopt Abuela as my own grandmother, Petra is fierce and amazing and a hot mess and I love her, too. But: Michael is my everything with Jane a close second - I identify with Jane so hard, in so many ways, like I rarely have with a character before, and I'd die for her too.
Better Off Ted: I think I either write for or request this fandom every year, but I gotta, because this show is a pure underrated delight that more people need in their life, and if that's my life's mission, then so be it. XD So: I would happy to get any fic for any of the characters in the tagset this year - Ted, Veronica, Lem, Phil - in any combo of friendship and situational humor, and with or without Linda in the mix too. I ship Ted/Linda and Ted/Veronica but enjoy them all plantonically as well. Any side Better Off Ted characters (ie. Dr. Bhamba, Lucy, etc) are welcome to crop up. I would love to see anything that's quirky like the show here - misunderstandings and sitcom tropes, something Veridian institutes going very wrong (the new slushie machine is the new Skynet? Veridian wants a man-eating plant until it's literally eating men? They really did weaponize that pumpkin? Veridian's artificial red dye #2346 is turning everyone lterally red?), pranks & shenanigans, humor, banter. How about some accidental fake dating between Linda and Ted? Or the yearly company retreat happens and there's only one bed? Or how about the yearly company retreat is camping out in the bush this year and none of them can handle or cope with that (or maybe one of them can, shocking everybody else)? Honestly, anything you can come up with will bring me joy. :D
Happy Endings: Another one I ask for every time, just because this show is SO GREAT and deserves all the love, too. I adore the humor on this show. I love all of the characters so I am totally down with seeing any of them in any combination - top favs are Dave, Penny, Jane. I ship Dave/Penny the most. Penny's guy-of-the-week stuff is endlessly funny, as is the roommate shenanigans that go on with Dave and Max (and Brad). I would to see any number of typical sitcom tropes/situational nonsense involving any/all, especially if it involves Penny and Dave in any shippy scenario! (I love them platonically as well, so feel free to do gen here too). Basically any form of pranks & shenanigans, misunderstandings, sitcommy tropes, best friends to lovers, accidentally in love, etc. Also so very down with doing something unexpectedly dark, angsty, apocalyptic, uncommon/non-canon pair, whatever (as long as a slice of banter/show typical hilarity remains in some form). And as I'm doing up this letter today, I'm realizing I really, really need to rewatch Happy Endings. ;D
