summer
So, I pretty much love my job. Well, not pretty much...I ABSOLUTELY love my job.
I had absolutely no idea what I was going to be doing coming into it. I had the wrong impression of my position when I came into it, but it's so much better than anything I could have imagined.
Most other departments have between 8 and 12 interns. My department only has one, so I'm getting TONS of training.
On Thursday, there's a reception at the Lyric Opera. A total of 14 people from Mercer are going (including me) and 54 of their largest clients are going to be there.
Today, William Blair put on a presentation for six of us. Three of their top six executives spoke at the meeting. It was awesome! I realized that even if I took an analyst position at William Blair, I probably never would have had the opportunity to meet these people because they're so high up. In my department, these are the people who present to US! I can't believe I have this opportunity.
The company is unreal. I wear business-casual clothes every day, and on Friday, I get to wear jeans. Flip-flops, tank tops, and sandals are all allowed. Pretty much anything goes unless I'm told otherwise. I'm working on a bunch of really interesting projects, and I really like all of the people I'm working with. They're all incredibly motivated and really intelligent. I hope the rest of my summer continues to go this well :)
Also, I'll try to post my pictures from Japan sometime in the near future...who knows when.
