Closing down sale, everything must go

With a heavy heart I am attempting to sell my little red wreck.  She has served me faithfully and well for a number of years yet there is still only 113,000 on the clock, and despite having sat outside for the last three months in the worst weather, she started first time this morning.  I spent a bit of time cleaning her out, removing most of the internal stickers and the odd bit of litter from behind the seats, and now I have a sign in her window asking £250 ono for my little Corsa automatic.

I've also come to the reluctant conclusion that despite all my efforts, the only way I am ever going to get rid of the clutter in the house is to bag it all up and take it to the charity shop - or the tip.  We have a stack of Jay's music equipment to list onto eBay, money is so tight now and the wedding is looming ever closer, and the bills are piling up. I hope to do a marathon eBay listing in the next few days to try and shift all the good stuff of mine, and Jay's synths and other musical equipment - God we sound desperate, well it's very close.

We managed, however, to clear all quite a lot of the stuff Jay brought back from his Mum's house, mostly the toys and books are stacked up out of the way but the old clothes have been bagged up for the charity shop. He even sorted out some of the random stuff in the bedroom and I managed to make a dent in the book collection and tidied up my dressing table. Dragging the hoover upstairs, however, was a bit of a mistake, my back is buggered again and hurts like hell.  I need to phone the doctor after 5pm tonight and see if I can get an appointment asap, she did suggest an x ray last week so I think that might be the way forward.

I did have one little light in the gloom last week though, a lovely young man from one of the assistance organisations came over to help me complete another application form for DLA. He knows his stuff and feels that I should not have been refused before. Once the forms go in, he reckons I should hear in 4-6 weeks time and if they refuse again, he will help with the appeal.  I felt quite embarassed with some of the questions but he feels that I have an ironclad case.

Oh well, I really should go and finish clearing up the kitchen as it's a bit of a tip again.
