This morning, on my way to work at 9:30, I noticed that the sun was shining STRAIGHT DOWN the escalator as I descended into the Metro. I noticed this because when I got on the escalator I could see my shadow at the bottom, and it DIDN'T MOVE* the whole time I was on the escalator.
Then I remembered that today** is the AUTUMNAL EQUINOX!
COINCIDENCE?!
Clearly, the DC Metro system is secretly a MODERN-DAY STONEHENGE!

**I looked it up when I got to work and found that TECHNICALLY the autumnal equinox is September 23 this year. Close enough.
