New year, new house.
My lease comes up soon (early December) and I've now working out West. The little flat in Northcote isn't looking as well located as it was when I moved in.
I'm contemplating moving to the western sector close to the Weribee train line, yet within bike riding distance of the city so I'm not left stranded if the trains decide to be crap. That narrows the search area to North Melbourne and Footscray.
I'm also reassessing this solo living thing. I must admit living by myself sent me a little loopy. Long commutes, starting a new full time job in a new career and attempting to study part time didn't help the mental balance.
If I live solo again I want to be within walking distance of a friend to take the edge off the solitude.
I'm currently looking at the 500m radius around Footscray train station, and am considering going up in rent to get a two bedroom place. anthanum and missmilky got a bargain in the area. If I can find something similar I'd be a happy camper. First look suggests I'll be lucky if I get a deal as good as the one they landed.
A share house with a financially stable, sociable person/people is an option I'd like to consider, but I suspect that there's very few people in the audience who have a compelling reason to cross the Marribinong.
