Why you should watch Misfits
While April has exploded with a million new seasons and shows my husband and I want to watch March was a barren wasteland of nothingness. While scouring through Netflix, Cable, Prime, and Hulu we found Misfits and decided to watch since it mentioned people getting powers.
Upon watching the 1st episode we were pleasantly surprised to see Iwan Rheon who plays Ramsay Bolton being as creepy as ever. His character grows a lot over the series(as far as we have gotten so far) and is not anything like Ramsay!
Then there is my favorite character Kelly. Why do I like Kelly? Her character seems so real. I picture working at McDonalds in the late 90s with her. I love her. So comforting. She is rough yet caring and just over all a good person imo. I want to hang out with her. <3
Then tonight I was snooping on IMDB and just realized the actor Robert Sheehan who plays Nathan also was Klaus in The Umbrella Academy and was Simon in The Mortal Instruments movie. He has got a bunch of other stuff under his belt but I haven't seen any of his other shows/movie. Klaus and Nathan are both quite obnoxious. Nathan is hilarious in Misfits as a fictional character. In real life I would not be able to stand him.
The other two main characters are Curtis and Alisha. I haven't seen them in anything else but they are great in this show! Curtis is over all the one with the best morals. If I could have anyone's power from this group it would probably be his. Alisha on the other hand has the worst power ever. :( Her power reminds me of something crappy that someone would have in the book The Spell for Chameleon where I remember it being mentioned someone had the power to make dots appear on a wall. I think poor Alisha would prefer that power over hers..Alisha starts off at first as the mean pretty girl but her true self comes out as the series goes on and she changes for the better as they all do.
This show has good music too!! The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, Massive Attack, Blood Red Shoes, and more good stuff!
The 1st 2 seasons are awesome. The 3rd season I am liking but not as good as the 1st 2 seasons. We will see where it goes...
If you like shows with magic or powers or super heroes you will probably enjoy this show. Its not perfect but quite enjoyable. If violence and sexual humor are turn offs for you do not watch.
