Gone Too Long

Well, work's picking up. Things are shifting to high gear. The free time that used to bore me to insanity is gone. Slowly, but surely, my inbox is getting full and my to-do list is getting longer.

I've taken on new roles at work, hence the busy days. First there's the Employee Relations gig that's not in full swing yet but is getting there. To date, I have one case under investigation and one project involving, possibly, a meet and confer with union representatives. I've also signed up to do some training classes. First one up is something on proper interviewing techniques. Looking forward to this one, definitely. Then there's recruitment, with its highs and lows. There's the on-going executive recruitment bound to end real soon. Whether we get a new Director or not, I can only guess. I'm hoping for a yes to this answer. Then there's a bunch of hard-labor recruitments which are always so easy to do yet so taxing due to volume of applicants and the examination involved.

To top all that, I have vacations planned. Yes siree!!! Can't forget that. In July, the sisters and I are going to Seattle (for the first time) to watch this symphony concert. In August, the entire family - sisters, Ma and Pa - are going on a road trip to Reno, Nevada. While there, I'm going to see Keith Urban in concert at the Hilton. A few days later, I'm off to Las Vegas, Nevada for yet another weekend in Sin City and yet another Keith Urban concert. Before I know it, it'll be December and who knows where I might decide to go then.

As for now, work beckons and I must answer. I've been looking forward to these busy days because it's when I'm most productive and it's when days and weeks just fly by and I don't have to count the hours 'til the weekend. Or until the next vacation...
