They're just ghosts... and ghosts can't harm us. People generally don't fear other people, whom are seen every day, yet people have the power to inflict pain onto people. Yet these spectres are seen once and feared for days afterwards. Explain that one.

Well... ghosts tend to be dead. People fear death, so why wouldn't they fear the dead?
