I am going to hazard a guess, and say that it was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Gee, thanks. Hope my bullets didn't get ruined.

Just an observation.

Hope that thing doesn't make too much more of a mess...

I take it this is not a normal occurrence here?

Nope. This is the first time I've ever seen something come from outside the barrier.

The barrier keeping us in this place? It extends overhead as well?

I guess. Never really tried to go over it.

Mmm. I'm simply trying to learn more about this place in which I've found myself, you see.

Makes sense. How much've you been told so far?

Various tidbits here and there; that there's some group of entities that use those who live here for their experiments. I'm quite curious about this--what manner of experiments?

All kinds of stuff. They turned everyone into mythological creatures once. Another time, people fell in love with the first person they talked to over the journals.

...so these effects are widespread and completely random in nature?

Pretty much. Though sometimes they'll kidnap you for personal experiments that're much worse than the stuff they do to everyone.

Sounds terribly unpleasant...

Are the wings some form of device they use to keep track of us? It was mentioned to me that if we remove them, we die.

I'm not sure. I think it's more the people who originally lived here had them, so now we do.
