So Bridget, you want to buy a computer? Maybe I'm a computer elitist. I don't get it. Macs, PCs, whatever. Doesn't matter. Macs are harder to fuck up, that is true. But Windows is just as good as long as you know what you're doing. Most people don't, which I don't understand, then I feel like they're stupid, then I feel guilty for feeling like they're stupid.

If you're doing anything multimedia-related (graphics, video editing, music, etc) Macs are a little better just because that's what everyone in the industry uses, then software is developed for the industry for Macs, then all the people in the industry need that software, into a cycle of Mac-buying multimedia people.

Files can go between Macs and PCs just fine, so all your pictures and music are safe. What matters are programs that support different types of files, so if you have lots of Word documents, you're gonna need to get Word for Mac.

Programs are generally easier to use on Macs. Probably because it takes more money to develop Mac programs, so it better be done right, and also because Macs have higher standards for usability.

BUT if you do somehow mess up a Mac, you may have problems because less people know how to fix them. Keep that in mind.

But all of this is trivial to me because I use linux, which rocks, never crashes, and it's free free free free and updated all the time. If you want to know about that (which you probably don't) I'm available.

And actually I was in Munich at the time. But I'm back in France now.
