...of managing a server reduced me to tears this morning.
Haha... Crap, that sounded so dramatic, but what the hell. It's my first time having to manage a server, and my knowledge about this are so very limited too. It all started when Tektonic informed me that the migration from the old shared server to the new one is complete. Well, I was happy AT FIRST, but then I found out that only 2.5GB out of more than 15GB of files were transferred.
I tried not to be pissed off.
Things went downhill from there.
Hostgator is such an ass because they didn't fix my old account when I damn well requested them to. I wanted them to fix my cPanel account so that I can SEE all my addon domains and subdomains. Because? I want to delete their records before migrating to a new server. Because they didn't, the cpmove action reconfigured DNS zones for my junjou.info, booklyhour.com, soesb.com, and even the main server's domain ireadyou.net! Of course, the records are then all messed up.So messed up that I don't know what to do anymore.
After editing all config files manually and running /scripts/updateuserdomains using SSH (I'm surprised my first try at SSH actually worked), I can access the domains fine. But Junjou Forum couldn't be accessed! So I went and add the missing record, and restarted my laptop and router...
... only to find out that I could access Junjou Forum, but Junjou.info was not showing!
What I did after that was cried myself to sleep and didn't wake up until 5.30pm (for the record, it was about 9am when I finally managed to get some sleep).
Thank God I got my brain to go all analytical and creative. The problem is now fixed.
*sigh*
Want to cry again T_T
p.s/ I tried downloading a file from my own server. I was surprised that it's really fast even for me who's using stupid Woosh. It's fast for me, at least~
auckland yeah!
