Another inverted slide day.
Begin: a mile from the apartment, someone comes out of a residential road and clips me going by. Just a scratch on my car, no big deal, but as she's driving a county-owned car, we need to wait for a cop to show up and do a report. Took a half hour for him to show, a half hour to do the report. His judgement is that she was at fault. Must remember to call the insurance company tomorrow. When I finally made it to work, barely late for a meeting, I got my hand momentarily stuck in the door to the meeting room - one of the many well-sealing monstrosities we have. It feels bruised and beaten, but only one place had the skin broken, and it doesn't look too bad.
End: Showed up at the house of one of the guys from work for poker night. Now, I've never played much poker, and nearly all of the variations they threw out were new to me. In any event, buying in was ten bucks. I went home seventeen dollars and change richer. Which was not nearly enough to buy gas on the way home. It took three tries to stop at a gas station that both a) was open and b) had gas in the pumps. Dollar eighty-nine per gallon. Yeesh. And that was in Wheaton, the prices in Gaithersburg were a dime higher.
