Ok, so in response to the call for more work stories, I offer you "The day that sucked!" -
Ok, so at least I got to work on time. Thank you nick. So, I'm at work and get sat an old couple (70s) who are always the best of customers (note the added sarcasm). Well, I get their drinks and orders in and then they run into another couple who turns out to be old friends. So they decide to switch tables. Blah, I can deal with that. Except I get sat at two other tables at the same time as a hispanic family of 6 (of course) sits at the same time. Not only does that give me a lot to deal with but I also can't change the original table without a manager. So, after the hispanic family's salad and world-famous breadsticks come out. I send their order to the kitchen and send the old couple's food. When another table comes in, get's food, gets breadsticks, and entrees, I'm like, oh crap. So I update them and go check in the kitchen. I make a big hub bub in there. Then I go get Tracey, the manager. She yells at the cooks, and goes and talks to the table. She gets the head chef and yells at him. The head chef yells at his guys. So now that everyone is upset and pissed at everyone else. Tracey pulls up my ticket and sees that I never...actually...put...their order...in. Yah, so that happened. And then they had their meal for free because of the wait which was followed by the only thing that could make it any "better," a 1 in 400 chance, guest satisfaction servey for them. This determines the direction of the company for the week and can get servers and managers fired. I'm so awesome.
