Geek out the 80's!!!
I have never been so happy to have grown up in the 80's. I finished listening to Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and it was the most enjoyable piece of fiction I've come across in a long time. I just can't be objective about it though. I loved the 80's so much and this book is obsessed with the 80's. If you didn't grow up in the 80's then you might not appreciate some of the references. But still. If you geek out at all, I really recommend it. It did get a lot of favorable reviews and presumably not all of these people are from the 80's or maybe not even nerds/geeks. How much did I enjoy this book? I immediately had to listen to it a second time. And I'm running out of days to listen to books all day. I'm changing jobs this week.
I am now a huuuuuuge Ernest Cline fan. I can't wait for his new book Armada or even his book of poetry that comes out later this year. He owns the geekiest car ever. He blogs about things like getting personal tours of NASA. Notice the picture of him sitting at the original Mission Control! So jealous!!
So, in short, if you like games, or remember the 80's READ THIS BOOK! If none of the preceding, read it anyway. You might be surprised.
