My wife finally got fed up with her mom and has more or less kicked her out of her life. It's been a long time coming. With the adopted family going out of town (and my family not being on speaking terms), we will be alone this Christmas.
That's OK. We won't have much, but we will have each other. As much I'm looking forward to exchanging gifts with my wife, what I really want is a new job. I think I'm finally ready after too many years of fears.
