Call To Actors-Producers-Musicians-Videographers-Etc - 48 HFP - Discordian Films
One week from today, Discordian Films will begin the insanity known as the 48 Hour Film Project. We will receive a genre, character name, prop and line for the script, and we will begin the frenzy to create a 7 minute film to be turned in on Sunday evening. The timing sucks - one week before opening of the Rudes production of Twelfth Night, but we don't get to choose the timing. We have some pretty big shoes to fill, this being the first year that smatterings of the old Cyclopean Pictures team gets together and tries to do something worthy of the project. And we need PEOPLE.
This Saturday at noon, we plan a technical "dry run" where we will run through all the equipment we have, see what works, what doesn't work, what we need, what we can possibly get, etc. If you have HD video equipment, sound stuff, lighting stuff, or other stuff that you think might be useful, please bring it to the House of Chaos on Saturday and we will see what we can do with it. Several people with equipment have dropped out, so your stuff is wanted/needed as is your talent. We have an excellent core group, but it will be quite difficult to do this if we are limited to the group that we have. Preliminary scheduling looks like this:
TONIGHT - 5/26 - Brainstorming. Anyone who wants to, see you at House of Chaos around 7:30
TOMORROW - 5/27 - NOON - Equipment Pile, Testing, Lighting, Preliminary FCP Workflows, Audio, Etc. As many of tech crew as possible, please be here.
SUNDAY - Anything we've forgotten
Friday 5/3
Noon - Preparation at House of Chaos begins
6:30 - 7:30 Director goes to 48HFP HQ to mingle, make friends, select genre and get line of script, character name, and prop (She doesn't have LJ, or I'd tag her)
7:31 - Director calls House of Chaos with information
7:32 - Script writing and storyboarding begins
Sometime Late - Script is finalized, storyboard is as good as it gets
Sometime Later - Tech crew assembles equipment, divides into teams if possible, does final equipment checks
Saturday 5/4
9AM - tech crew sets up, balances lighting/sound/etc.
10AM (or sooner if possible) Shooting shooting shooting with simultaneous rough cuts as possible
Scattered throughout - Food
Sometime Late - Shooting done
Sometime Later - Toldyasos, blame, gnashing of teeth complete
Sunday 5/5
POST PRODUCTION Much
2PM - Editing COMPLETE
3PM Rendering and final checks
6:30 - Begin journey to 48HFP HQ
7:15 - DROP OFF FILM
Of course, this is a rough schedule. There will be much other stuff we'll need to do, like music creation, ensuring we have rights to music, special effects (if we can do that), etc. If you know any gods - video, audio, lighting, editing, special effects, equipment mavens, costume mavens, graphics mavens, etc. promise them punch and pie and bring them along.
