Despite the fact that Castiel has spent the last few months fighting the apocalypse alongside Dean and Sam, he still doesn't quite understand the human need for humor until he's caught in the middle of a battle of practical jokes between the brothers.
After rewatching the earlier seasons of SPN this summer, I found myself feeling enamored with and nostalgic for the easiness and good-natured teasing between Dean and Sam that seems to have all but disappeared in the later seasons, replaced with tension, guilt, and more than a little distrust. This cute little fic does a great job of capturing that lightheartedness of the early seasons, incorporating Cas into the brothers' prank wars. Hilariously written with particularly great characterization of Castiel.
