Omega wolves are so rare Dean Winchester never thought he’d meet one in his lifetime, let alone end up involved with one. But when the strange, enigmatic Castiel comes to Jackson Springs, one instinctive act of kindness throws the two of them together. Bound by instinct and something that runs much, much deeper, Dean finds himself torn between family, duty, and the stranger who's already burrowed deep under his skin.
This author's Among the Wreck is one of my all-time favorite D/C fics, so I was ecstatic to learn she'd written another. She has such a knack for writing Dean and Cas, and the way she wrote the importance of the Pack family to Dean was so beautiful and in-character it hurt. Dean and Cas's instinctive need and desire to be near each other was palpable and hot and rang true. Not to mention that I found the way she interpreted the SPN-verse through the Pack mentality fascinating.
Even if werewolf AUs aren't your thing, I highly recommend giving this one a read. You won't regret it.
