AU. Café owner Tamàs walks his dog near Bockboot reservoir when he stumbles upon a man with no memory. Welcoming the stranger to his home, Tamàs has no idea who he’s dealing with until two FBI agents blow into town, investigating a series of mysterious disappearances.
murron is one of my very favorite D/C authors, and this story is a perfect example why. She has this quiet innate ability to get to the heart of each character, and she's able to display that heart with such a beautiful economy of words it will leave you breathless and wanting more. I've long had a particular fondness for authors who write scenes of every-day domestic life and make every moment fascinating, and murron does this in spades. I was left wishing to read more of "Jonah's" life before Dean came along and confused the hell out of everything. This is a gorgeous, painful, yet ultimately hopeful story that beautifully reveals the bond that will always remain between Dean and Castiel, no matter what death or amnesia may get in the way.
