Squeeing: Not the most impartial rec, since the fic was written for me, but I enjoyed it so I wanted to share. ^_^
I very much like this - it's a gen study of Roy, bringing different aspects of his life together. It uses some short scenes to "piece" together a picture of Roy, showing some of the things that made him who he was. There's plenty of little details that just ring very true for me.
I particularly love the "early Ed" presented in this fic, and Roy's reaction to him.
