Brief summary: Seeing Chris in his outfit for the TV Guide shoot is an eye-opening experience for the rest of the guys. And for Chris himself too. It leads to some serious changes in the way they all interact. This Chris-centric GSF story was one of my earliest favourites in the fandom. It's seriously hot in an understated way.

Excerpt: Joey was explaining to Lance how he should put baby powder on his legs before wearing leather pants under the hot lights, and Justin was picking glitter out of his eye, and JC was arguing with Nic on the phone again, when Chris came out and everyone shut up.

Maybe it was the spiked collar, or the eyeliner, or the single, white trash braid glued to the back of his hair. Joey thought it might be the mesh sweater, and the white wifebeater under it, but Lance decided it was the whole thing together that made Chris really, really hot. All of a sudden, like.

He was quiet, too, which was weird, and as he crossed the room in front of Lance, he gave him a smirk. It wasn't like Lance hadn't seen that smile a million times before, but it was after, now. After Lance had seen him in the eye makeup.

Brief summary: Joey and Chris discovers that Wade really is a demon from hell... This is an incredibly funny story in which all the guys play a part but the main characters are Joey and Chris. I love them both so much in this story. They might be larger-than-life but they're still very much themselves. Joey's laidback and serves as the perfect counterfoil to the totally whacked-out Chris. The growing romance between them may take second place to the planning how to get rid of the demon but it never feels as an afterthought and it's very much in harmony with how they interact all through the story. This is one of my favourite cheer-me-up stories.

Excerpt: Somehow, in front of them, Wade's eyes turned black from edge to edge, and his teeth grew pointed. "I said, don't diss the fashion, man."

Chris staggered backwards into Joey, who was also staggering backwards, but at a slower rate. "What the hell?"

"That's exactly the question you should be asking," the demon known as Wade said.

"What the hell are you doing here? Why us?" Joey managed to say, trying to keep Chris from climbing backwards up his body to stand on his shoulders. "What evil plans are you using us in?"

Wade shrugged. "Nothing really. I was just bored and this looked like fun. An eternity gets so shit-boring." His eyes looked almost normal like that, Joey noticed, holding Chris' arm firmly so he wouldn't run away.

"Well, you should go away," Chris said, waving his hands tentatively in a shooing gesture, possibly more appropriate for a chicken than a demon. "Fuck off back to hell or Australia or whatever."

"I don't wanna," Wade explained. "So I'm not going to."

"Hey, I pay your wages!" Chris argued. Joey was glad, because an arguing Chris was almost never a frightened Chris. A frightened Chris was an unfamiliar Chris, and Chris was hard enough to predict at the best of times.
