"What, Shacklebolt? What do we possibly have to discuss now? I sent you a proper owl and even a thank you gift for what you've done. I apologized to Potter for my outburst and blamed it on my illness. Now I just expect to be ill-tempered in peace, since I've done my two out-of-character deeds for the year.." Severus' eyes were closed by the end of his outburst so that he wouldn't have to look at the man his own traitorous body desperately craved. He turned away as he lifted the snifter to his nose.
"Are you, Severus? At peace?"
He turned, passing the second brandy to Kingsley. "I don't expect to wake up one day and be peaceful, Shacklebolt. There hasn't been a day like that in forty-one years. Why would there be one today, suddenly?"
