RATING: PG, because Mukuro makes everything PG and Xanxus is a potty mouth. And it's not like Hibarin is blameless either, so. :|

"He approached me first. I have no idea why."

He caught the tone, and, knowing Xanxus, it could only mean thing: family issues. He would have to deal with it later though.

"The two of you talked?"

Mukuro filed that little piece of information for another time. Instead, he opted for another nonchalant shrug though this time there was a slight smirk on his lips. "Briefly. Nothing special was said."

Not entirely surprising. The pair had never really gotten along, and Hibari had never really bothered to find out why. It hadn't mattered; his business was his business, and Xanxus' business was Xanxus'.

"The drinks are almost always good for you, brother dear."

He would have to ask about Xanxus and the man who called himself their father later.

Amusement colored Mukuro's face at hearing such an endearment coming from Hibari, even if it held a sarcastic edge to it. If he ever heard the other man utter it was sincerity, it could possibly be the end of the world then. Humility and Hibari just didn't get along that well.

But these sad attempts at having civil conversation with the three of them were getting a tad ridiculous. Mukuro didn't have anything to talk about with Xanxus and vice versa, but he knew that there were things that could be said with Hibari. Trying to have a decent conversation with everyone involved was a near fruitless endeavor.

He would wait and see what other attempts would be made.

"Well, you'd know better I would. I don't like alcohol much."

That Xanxus could still get angry and not slur a word meant that he definitely wasn't drunk yet, and Hibari could tell, because it was Mukuro, that Mukuro was already attempting to recede into the background of things, to watch and wait until he got bored enough to leave.

They had things to discuss. It was odd (yet again, unsurprising) how the three of them simply couldn't talk about any of it together.

"You must have things to do," he said, looking towards his old friend. "It's far and enough that you dropped by."

We can talk another time.

Contrary to what Hibari said, Mukuro actually didn't have much to do other than check to see if he had any calls during his time here. Sure that he had things to read over and check, but they didn't require his immediate attention. However, there was an opportunity presented to him and he usually took any that would benefit him the most. And right now, if he was gone, then that left Xanxus and Hibari to discuss whatever they needed without him there. Perfect really. And he could talk to his old friend any other time.

Mukuro chuckled. "When it comes to a free drink, I never refuse, you know that," he started, playing the amused card as he usually did. He stood as he continued. "However, there are a few things I do need to see to before the day's over. So, I shall take my leave gentlemen."

With a gaze of acknowledgment to Hibari, he gave departing nods to both men before taking his leave.

"You first," Hibari evenly returned, as he took a sip of his own drink. "I didn't think you'd ever bother speaking to Mukuro alone."

--Aaand late again.

"Civil behavior from you is worrisome."

And it was true. That usually meant that Xanxus was sick. ...Well, sicker than he already was, anyway, and maybe in a different aspect.

Hibari made a dismissive sound as he stood up, heading for the fridge. Might as well get a more decent drink than booze.
