"No," Ryohei snapped. "I'm not challenging you, I'm telling you even if you're a stupid asshole who WON'T LISTEN!" As if to emphasize his point, Ryohei swiped out to make a grab for Hibari's car keys that the man was still holding.

(ooc: Asked the mun about the keys!)

At another time, he would have had a smart comeback for the words, and enough sense to simply swat Ryohei away and be done with it.

Hibari, however, has always been a man of action, and in this case, 'action' meant taking a fast swing for Ryohei's head. Knocking the guy out, in his strange It's-Fucking-One-in-the-Morning Logic, meant shutting him up, somehow proving his point and, as a bonus, keeping the other from touching him.

I-- I don't think he can even if I wanted him to.

He had seen the blow coming, had anticipated it, even (Hibari was still a man, after all, even if he was stick-thin and short!), but Hibari had been too fast, Ryohei's face had been too close, and his eyes just weren't what they used to be

And what the hell was that? That wasn't in the usual reactions of people who had just been punched.

"...Excuse me?"

He was supposed to have a good comeback for everything, but one had to forgive him: the lack of sleep and bad, bad days had the tendency to slow all brain activity down to a nearly complete halt.

... I almost feel sorry for Hibari.

"KYO-CHAN, IT'S ME!" he boomed, a huge grin on his face. "From middle school! I ALWAYS ASKED YOU TO JOIN MY BOXING CLUB! Come on, you CAN'T HAVE FORGOTTEN ME!" And not entirely because he thought he was unforgettable. As fighters, one would remember the one person in middle school who could dodge your attacks, right?! Not that Ryohei ever managed to hit him back either, in the first place. THAT HAD BEEN REALLY FUN!

Almost. But not quite. Because it's too funny. XD

Now that he thought about it--

Hibari turned around and marched right back to his office.

AAAAAAA, BARI-CHAN~

"YOU REMEMBER, DONCHA?" The boxer was obviously pleased about this. "CHILDHOOD FRIEND!" A childhood friend! Kyoko would be surprised! He followed hot on Hibari's trail, keeping up with the shorter man easily enough, though he barely noticed that he had to job to keep up again. "Kyo-chan, Kyo-chan wait!"

Analogies of snowballs rolling down hills and some guy named Murphy came to mind. ...Oh, good. Elevator. He pushed the button, stepped in, punched in his floor and immediately hit the button that would shut the door. Hopefully in Ryohei's face.

Hibari did not want to think that his life was over, but an event like this was horrific in its own right.

No elevator door would defeat Ryohei. After all, these days, he spent an inordinate amount of time beating them. He slipped in easily enough, still chattering as if Hibari didn't just threaten to squish him with the elevator door.

"But do you remember Tanaka-sensei? He always wanted to get you into the team, too, Kyo-chan, but we never did manage to catch you! At first he thought you were just a runt but then he saw us fight! And he was convinced! We could have won more tourneys with you around, yanno! Oh but is that why you don't mind having a broken car? YANNO, EVEN IF YOU'RE EXTREME, THAT'S STILL NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN DO!" And so and so forth.

Was it humanly possible to talk that much and generate that much noise? Hibari was a little too tired and irritated to think about it. He waited until they had reached the door of his office before he turned around and leveled Ryohei with a look.

"Shut up and leave me alone. Can you do that?"

"If you promise not to use your car!" he beamed. Was this a weakness? Was it? Victory!

Hibari narrowed his eyes. The only answer he gave was him shutting the door in Ryohei's face and locking it. The man had a key, he knew, but doing that made him feel slightly better.

Well! That had been expected. "I can talk your ears off through the door, yanno!" Not that he was going to, but he knew from experience that it was a viable threat.

But Hibari was already popping on a pair of earphones and returning to the couch, to finish that nap that he secretly hoped would carry over well past sunrise.

He turned volume of his music up high. Very, VERY high.

In the mean time, Ryohei had gone back to his staff. And also cordoned off that car. Complete with hollow blocks at the tires. Hibari was so not going anywhere.
