Shouichi was nervous, and perhaps a little upset as he approached Kokuyo. His talk with Byakuran earlier that week and now meeting Spanner to celebrate his birthday had Shouichi unsettled. He wasn't sure exactly what to do about all of that, and Shouichi knew he was never at his best when he was concealing something. He wasn't an obvious liar, but if Shouichi did not pull himself together he was going to be obviously distracted.
Shouichi stopped and turned to 'look' into one of the shop windows. Taking a deep breath Shouichi settled his game face on. He'd deal with Byakuran's plots later, right now he was off the clock.
Spanner was looking at a copy of the latest Cervello release when he spotted Shou-han. Actually, he had been looking at the centerfold, the rest of the magazine uninteresting to him. Shou-han's picture was always nice to look at, especially when he was doing nothing but wait.
"Shou-han," he greeted, walking over with the magazined in his hands. He had closed it, but he'd stuck a finger between the important pages.
Shouichi glanced at the magazine Spanner held in his hands and made a face. The Cervello almost ranked up with the National Enquirer, in Shouichi's opinion. "Is there a reason you're reading that?" Shouichi asked. Why would Spanner be interested in a gossip rag? Though Shouichi supposed they could have semi-decent people working on it and the work might have interested Spanner. Shouichi doubted it.
"An important reason," he said, smiling a little ambivalently, though he made no move to lend Shou-han the copy he'd taken from the rack. Not that he was buying it.
Although... he did want Shou-han to see. Now was also a good opportunity to see Shou-han's first reaction first hand.
