Avoiding talk of my Amy

Dec 21, 2011 14:02

Livejournal has just derped itself out of my bank balance forever.

I'm moving my personal account across to Dreamwidth tonight. I'll crosspost to LJ from there.

If any of you have accounts over at DW, please let me know so I can add you. <3

I see you found me there. I don't use it much because everyone I follow is mainly over here.

Me, too. I always swore I'd never go, but they plan to vastly overhaul this site within the next few months to this monstrosity:

http://manonon.livejournal.com/6816.html

The Russian LJ designer who put this in place has been caught calling the English-speakers on LJ 'mice', trolls, and oversensitive Americans.

There's also a theory that this has been a massive push to purge LJ of those dirty fandom journals for a cleaner FB-esque social networking aesthetic. I won't pay for these idiots to destroy the place I love any more.

I've had to overhaul VC_Media today, by the way, because they have decided we're not allowed subject lines in our comments, so all your drabbles were showing without titles. Sweet.

I'm going to back up VC_Media on Dreamwidth just in case they do another round of their fandom purges from a few years back, but the community is staying put for the meantime. :)

What a hassle! Why change things like that? Makes me sad I renewed my account this fall. :P

What the fuck, so they not only made this the new way it works, they REMOVED all the subject lines from existing comments?

Afraid to peek at CoD, tbh. And I assume FFA is fucked completely now since they rely totally on subject lines in comments; they mirror on DW, thank goodness, but it sucks for going back to old threads...

Also, I'm there too; same username. Rubbish at crossposting but trying to be better...
