About 24 hours ago I beat Birth by Sleep.
And I still don't know how it ends.
Yesterday, I was tired and really not feeling well. (Something normal, I'm not sick.) I'd opted out hanging with my friend that evening since I had to be up early anyway. It was a little before midnight, I'd had an hour and a half nap earlier since I wasn't feeling too hot, but it didn't help my "can't sleep before midnight" deal. And I was still dying to finish BBS. So I fire the thing up. Try the final boss (much more on that later), try him again, try him a third time, realize there isn't a third form after a long cutscene, and realize "hey, I'm feeling tired, I'll appreciate this more when I'm awake." (I zonk out immediately when I go to sleep, which means I really wasn't feeling well.) And so I watch as a main character fades into the darkness and the camera pans down from a starfield to the tops of two familiar heads. And pause.
By habit, when I put the game down and I'm at home, I save, plug it into the charger, and push up and hold the power button. When I'm out and about, going to pick it up after a while, and so on, I often just flick it up to put it into sleep mode.
Deciding to save the ending for tomorrow, (which would have made it one month and one day from when I got the game), I plug in my PSP and, like I always do... push up and hold the power button.
Really.
My Aqua muse's expression is the same as the icon.
