This month I am resolved to finish all those half-done private posts scattered hither and yon through the year and a few of those "I'll write about this later" sorts of things. Regarding books I've read, at the beginning of the year I started saving the list and posting completed books at the end of the month (see the
"books" tag for posts about books 1-10 for the year if you want), which was a good idea for a while but of course it all went to Hell along with everything else in April. And I've been meaning to get these caught up for months now but just haven't. So I am now. Expect a number of posts about books coming soon.
Without further ado, books 11-15 for the year, starting about April.
11:
Cul De Sac, by Richard Thompson. This is a really cute comic, and it totally counts as reading because there are lots of words. I like this comic because the main character is 4 years old.
12:
Secrets of Simplicity, by Mary Carlomagno. I dunno, I don't think this book taught me anything I didn't already know. Make a list? Check. Get rid of shit you don't need? Check. It's a pretty little book and I can see maybe giving it as a shower gift, but you can get the same information in a couple of issues of "Real Simple".
13:
Growing Up Dead: The Hallucinated Confessions of a Teenage Deadhead by Peter Conners. During the 1980s post-"Touch of Gray" Deadhead boom, young Peter drops acid and hits the road. Hilarity ensues.
14:
Runner's World Complete Book of Women's Running: The Best Advice to Get Started, Stay Motivated, Lose Weight, Run Injury-Free, Be Safe, and Train for Any Distance. A handy book full of information. Not enough information to keep me from hurting my foot, of course, but I'm not sure that's the fault of the book. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow, by the way.
15:
Cornbread Nation 4: The Best of Southern Food Writing. OMG this is a GOOOOOD book. If you are not purely starving to death by the time you finish reading this one, there is something wrong with you.
More later.
