Unfortunately, again with the no energy thing... Another day with very little interest in doing much at all. I left for Elkhorn (El Khorn?) at 7:30 to go on a bike ride with my dad and my eyes were mysteriously irritated on the drive over, but cleared up by the start of the bike ride. Maybe the wind dried them out a bit. We rode 25 miles and were almost to Delavan when my dad broke a spindle on his left side (it's the part the crank connects to) so we got a ride in a farmer's smelly pickup to the Mobile Gas station in Delavan where Roger picked us up. I pouted a little because my dad got a sandwich at McDonalds, where I can not eat, but other than that, it was a relatively successful bike ride. My dad didn't get too injured from the crash- just a few scrapes on his arm and leg, but luckily we were going up hill so it was a low-speed collision (I ran into him when he fell down right in front of me!).

I showered when we got home and headed off quick to the dentist's in Woodstock where I got a Jimmy John's sandwich beforehand. Delicious, although I was nervous for the appointment. My dentist told me that the irritation on the right side of my mouth was not, in fact, another cavity, and was from a misalignment of my teeth that was bothering the nerve. Good news because then he didn't have to do another filling! (quick note: when I asked him if he was going to grind off part of my tooth to fix the alignment, he said, "not grind... polish." I love the technical terms of dentistry that make things seem not so awful.) The other two fillings I got weren't too bad; not painful at all. I had plenty of novicane and no2. there was a point during the operation (can I call it that?) when a song by Nico came on my iPod and I was pretty "sociallyl high" already and I just filled with love for these strange people working on my teeth- that they would dedicate their lives to helping people who don't take care of their teeth good enough themselves. It struck me as very emotional at the time and I loved them both with every tooth in my skull. That, and more, I suppose. I also found it interesting that the dentist and dentist's assistant are married (Mr. and Mrs. Evans of Harvard, IL) and they spend their lives together over a stranger's open mouth. They must have met in dental school; how else could they both have decided to become dentists together?

After the dentist's office, I came home and took a nap until I 4:30ish. I went to Rockford with my dad and Lynette where we ate at the Olive Garden (had a wonderful waitress!) and saw the movie, CARS. After traveling on Route 66 this past month, it was really nice, but I have my fair share of critiques. The number one being it was about cars, I guess. It was still a good time, though.

Tomorrow my dad and I are going to ride a really long way... over 100 miles probably. I don't know what I'm thinking, getting myself into this 200 mile event in Alaska. I'm going to die, probably. Or just give up halfway. I hope I make it., but considering how tired I've been after only 25 miles this past few days. We'll see, though.

Christopher's going to call back! and then I'm going to sleep.
