Writer's Block: Sounds Good to Me (favorite words)
hoot'nskinny is my favorite word right now. It has been for quite sometime since I heard my uncle use it in place of someone's name who had slipped his mind at the moment, "what's ol' hoot'nskinny up to these days?" More often than not when I use this term to describe someone who's name skipped my mind the other party is very accurate in responding. As a language nerd (and a typically dry-humored individual) this replaceal of names was very amusing to say the least. My father and uncle for years have had a tendency for replacing completely nonsensical words for all sorts of ordinary things... In short, this kind of word makes me think of happier times. :)
