[locked from hostiles]

Well, I'm more or less well now, and I suppose it's time to pick up where I left off.

Like I said last time, I've managed to create a program that can hopefully neutralize the effects of the virus in Zero. However, it's not a certain thing, and without viral samples, it can't really be tested or simulated ( Read more... )

all better now more or less, log post, ciel

Of course, miss Ciel.

I'm glad to hear you're doing better. You gave people a scare, collapsing like that. Please try to take better care of yourself.

Believe me, I've learned my lesson.

... I was, um. I was wondering if you could answer some questions for me.

I can certainly try. What would you like to know?

... There are some... experiences I've had... certain emotions I have towards Harpuia and Zero both, and...

I'm not certain how to act on them, or even if I should since they are from different timelines and don't share my perspective.

Well... I'm not entirely certain how you should deal with this. Especially in regards to Harpuia, since I do not know him well myself.

However, considering that Zero will not know you at all, it might be better if you were to approach him as someone you're meeting for the first time. While your experiences with the Zero in your own past will color your opinion of him, you shouldn't take for granted that he will react the same toward you that the Zero you remember did.

As for Harpuia, if he remembers you, then you at least have that point in common. But things could have happened differently for you both in your respective pasts. There have been some instances of people coming from worlds where things are almost the same, but vary in some way or other.

The best I can suggest is that you approach him with an open mind. And keep in mind that although similar, your experiences - even of your shared time periods - might differ slightly.

I think in Harpuia's case, we share a common history up to a certain point. Then he... came here, while the one I knew I continued to know as a Cyber Elf.

...

... Can I confide in you a private matter?

Ah.

Um... If you'd like to, you may.

... I realize our interaction has been limited, X, but... you are the closest I can get to a neutral party between both Zero and Harpuia.

...

I... had feelings for Zero, once. He was our protector, and he and I worked closely together. In time, after he saved us from the man man Dr. Weil's ultimate scheme, I... I managed to move past that. He will always be important to me, of course.

And Harpuia... in the years afterwards, as I developed the Biometals along with the help of him and the others who'd become Cyber Elves... he'd become important to me as well.

...

With that in mind, perhaps... I should remain distant from them both, and not burden them...

...

Ciel, I'm not entirely sure what to advise...

Zero is- You do understand that Zero's ex-girlfriend is here, and alive, right? Their relationship ended prematurely because of circumstances beyond their control... He will most likely pursue a relationship with her if given the chance...

As for Harpuia... I couldn't really say...

I think... if you want to pursue a relationship with him, it would be best to get to know him from the ground up, as it were. While he will not remember being so important to you, he may still come to feel for you in time, once you both get to know each other better.

But I would not suggest springing your feelings for him on him before you both have taken the time to get to know each other better.

I don't plan to do anything in regards to Zero, X. That ship has sailed, and I want to help Iris in any way I can. Really, it'd be unfair to Zero as well.

I just...

...

I don't want simply knowing me to be a burden for either Zero or Harpuia....

I can't imagine knowing you would be a burden to either of them, Ciel.

I just... don't want to place guilt on either of them. If it ever became known...

... I just don't know what to think.

Ciel... I think you might be overthinking things.

Whether or not either would return your feelings, I do not see how they would feel guilty knowing you care about them...

It might make things somewhat awkward for a little while until things are sorted out, though.

... I just don't want to cause them any trouble. Especially... considering what poor Iris has been through.

I don't think making an effort to become friends, at least, would be a trouble.

And if you should choose to tell Harpuia of your feelings later on, you merely run the same risk as anyone divulging their feelings for someone else when uncertain of the reception.

Thank you, X.
