Apparently we've just had the biggest snowstorm in two decades hit London. It's about 6 inches of snow and EVERYONE IS FREAKING OUT. No buses or tubes were running most of the day and there were SEVERE delays on the overground train. I was on time to work! But then I was sent home at noon because "it's going to keep getting worse." Why are there no snow plows? Salt trucks? Why are all the buses not running? That seems ridiculous to me. Anyway, on my way to and from work I got some really nice pictures!
Here is the view from my kitchen window:
Here's the platform as I was waiting for the train at 2:00 to come home:
Why hasn't it been shoveled? I mean, if this were America, someone would have "fallen" and sued already.
And could someone explain to me why this causes massive train delays?
I can see the tracks. They're not even covered. I don't understand why when it snows trains can't run. Cars and buses, yes, I get that. Slippery and they might slam into another car. But trains? WTF?
I also took a couple of videos. Here's one from the morning on my way to the train station:

And here's me waiting for the train on my way home. It started snowing heavily and it looked so pretty that I wanted to capture it:

If you listen closely, you can hear the train lady say that they are sorry the train is "delayed by approximately 58 minutes." That's ridiculous.
So that was my day! I was home and back in my pajamas by 2:30. And it's been snowing all day still so my boss said that I should probably "work from home" tomorrow. It's like a 4 day weekend!
