Oh, how so much has happened in the little time that has passed. All of it one last ode to the days of youth, for tomorrow will change to a future of a new adventure. Since I've last updated, I actually went back to Baltimore, took one more city trip, a celebrated my 23 birthday. In between each moment stood little bits and pieces that I cherished. Each moment leading to today, the end of my last Summer Vacation ever. From here on out, it will be nothing but what all those who have to grow up do, work, mature and live. The days of my youth have now passed, and not that I'll never enjoy again, but enjoyment will come in different ways now. What lies ahead is building up my life, settling down, maybe even a family. I far from fear this though, I can't wait to finally move on to the next part of my life. It's going to be another great adventure. It's all worth looking forward to.
Before I can even do that though, I must look back. In the short term, I did take a trip back to Baltimore. Jen Yu has never been, and I wanted to shower the majesty of inner harbor. We started the day early. I arrived at her house at 9 and we left for Baltimore. We hit a bit of traffic at the giant merge near 7a on the NJ turnpike and also at the 95 south merge in Delaware. Other than that, We made decent time, getting to Baltimore in 4 hours. We had tickets for the National Aquarium at 1, so we were a bit behind, but we picked up the tickets at will, and then walked in, way ahead of the line. We walked the whole thing top to bottom. We saw some cool fish and some weird amphibians as well. Defiantly stopped by and saw the dolphins (my favorite aquatic animal.). Jen was treated to many views of the Sting Rays (apparently her favorite animal in the aquarium.). After this, we walked around for a bit and saw the Marketplace at Inner Harbor. There I picked up a really neat Fedora Hat. We then continued along the far end of the Inner Harbor (something I had not done ever.). We saw the outside of Fort McHenry and a very nice park. Eventually, we came to the end of the Inner Harbor and there sat the Rusty Scrapper, a very nice dinning area. We decided we would have dinner there. I had the most wonderful Crab Cake ever there. Along with that, Jen had a very nice Mahi Mahi and I had a wonderful Atlantic Salmon. Unfortunately, it was still about 5 or so in the afternoon, and it was getting along in time. So we decided to leave for home. She was unable to see the harbor at night, when it looks so majestic. Next time we decided, and we were on our way home. It was an easy drive home, with many memories to satisfy us. I actually took a few pictures, and you can catch them here:
http://pics.livejournal.com/rebelpilot/gallery/0000hkk5 Well, I hadn't seen the shore all summer, so after my one friend invited me to a day at the beach, I decided to oblige. So, Last Monday, the 21st, I went to Point Pleasant to meet up with a friend. Well I arrived an hour after we decided to meet up, but she was late. Well she was very late. So thankfully I had found a SuperNova machine and spent 3 hours or so playing DDR. Hand't played the final release yet, and I must say it was a lot of fun. Good songs and just overall a nice feel. So finally she arrived, and we all went on the beach. It didn't' last too long, since something came up with her boyfriend and well... she had to be off. So we said our goodbyes and I headed home and called it a day.
My next adventure was last Wednesday, the 23rd. My sister had bought 4 tickets for Rent, the musical to take My Brother and I as a birthday treat. So, as a 4th, I had asked Dana to come along. Well, after some last second theatrics, she accepted. We all left for the city at about 10 am in the morning. After a parking problem in Hoboken (namely people moving in, and me having to find a spot in a far off lot.) , we were on the path for Manhattan. We arrived a bit early as I wanted , so we walked midtown a bit. We went to midtown comics, where Brennard was mesmerized by the amount of toys available. We then followed this up with visiting Toys R Us in Times Square. Well, with time killed, we arrived at the Nederlander Theater at 1:30. The line was long and flowing well out the door. After a bit of a wait, we were finally shown in. My god, the performance was fantastic. The understudy for Roger, who played Roger that day was phenomenal. In fact the entire cast was phenomenal. They were wonderful to watch, and it was an exciting show. After this, we decided to head for Chinatown for dinner. First we stopped at J&L for a look, and then to Elizabeth Center. There i found Phoenix Wright, so I had to pick it up. Then we went to Mott st, to eat at my favorite restaurant, Aijsen. It was a wonderful dinner. After wards, we headed back, via Christopher street. After being lost for a bit, we found the station and made our way home. It was a long and fun day. Many memories and pictures to share:
http://pics.livejournal.com/rebelpilot/gallery/0000ks5p The day after, Bob, Ea, Albert, Gel, Niko, Chloe and I went to Six Flags Great Adventure. I had not been there in a while. I was a bit tepid on going, but I decided why not. Man it was fun. I hadn't ridden a roller coaster in a while, but I got my fill in the day. We arrived at 10 am, and were greeted by quite a line. After purchasing our tickets, we went in, and made our way quickly for Kingda Ka. When we arrived, we were shocked to see a 4 hour line. So we decided fuck that. We moved on to Superman. Well after about 40 minutes of waiting, and almost getting on, it broke down. We decided, not worth waiting any longer, so we moved onto the Great American Scream Machine. A fun classic which was a good reintroduction to roller coasters. Technically, Only Bob, EA, Albert and I were there first, so at this time, Gel, Niko and Chloe joined us. We all then sat in line for Medusa. That was a nice little coaster which was moderately exciting. So after this, we decided to hit up Nitro. After a long wait, we got aboard. From the announcer who had much flare and excitement to the end, it was a rush. It was far faster than anything I have experienced so far. The rush and danger it held was beyond even my own reasonable comprehension. It really blew me away, but I don't think I'll ever be able to handle a second go on it. So after this, we ate dinner and headed for Congo Rapids. Soaked is the words my friends, soaked is what I was. We ended this all with one last shot at Superman. We did get on, no problems, and my it was the best Coaster all day. It was just exciting and different. I liked a lot. Well, it was a full day and we had headed home after this. Sorry guys, no pictures this time.
All of this culminated to my Birthday this past Friday. It started off slow. After having had such a full past few days, I woke up pretty late in the morning. I was going to go buy Apples to Apples, but I just lacked any motivation to leave and take care of such things. So I basically chilled inside for most of the day and played Phoenix Wright. Eventually 7pm rolled around and Sam had arrived at my house to come with me to dinner. Javier and Colin arrived a bit later after her and we all left for Charlie Browns. Well I did make reservation for 8, but I decided to arrive early to ensure no problems. They were a bit stunned, but the manager explained that they just had been busy all day, but they have our reservation and they were preparing to handle us. Eventually the rest of the party slowly trickled in, first Antonio, then Tim, followed by Brad, then EA and Arlene, Then Bob and Albert and finally Alex and Brennard arrived last. It was a wonderful feast, well worth the money and time we spent there. Antonio also knew the waitress, who was very pleasant and very tolerant of us. All in all, it was a blast of a dinner. After Dinner, we went back to Bob's apartment, where we played Crainium and Taboo. We met Julian, Gel and Niko there. After all the board game we hung around and just talked it up and hung out like old times. It was really a great day and night. A wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. Oncer again pictures and memories for this event:
http://pics.livejournal.com/rebelpilot/gallery/0000rgdk I usually do a letter to myself every birthday, but it's time to move on past that. That was a mission of self reflection, I'm now in a mode of personal growth and stability. I'm no longer trying to find myself as I am trying to mature my self further. What good will clinging to the past do anymore. I have the memories, and I have the experiences they bring. It's time to look forward and cherish each day as if it were the last. Forget Regret perse. I can't wait to see what this year brings, what new challenges and memories will I live through. Moving out of the house, saving for that house, maybe love, maybe opportunity, maybe a great unknown. Who knows, all I know is it begins tomorrow. There is no reason to reminse about what has gone, it's just regretting the past. Time to move on.
Well, I have work early tomorrow, so... Until I update again, take care.
See you space cowboy...
